Causes of the Blurry Vision after the Cataract Treatment

    Loading

The eyes are the most vital part of our human body, and without the proper functioning of our eyes, we are vulnerable to doing anything. Usually, the problems with our vision are caused by the excessive usage of gadgets like TVs, mobile phones or laptops. Chopra Nethralaya has the best treatment and surgery options for the eyes, which can make our vision more clearer than ever. Cataract surgery is the prime option for defective vision. However, in some cases, we experience blurry vision after the surgery. We get this blurred vision on a temporary basis because after the removal of cataract-clouded lenses and the addition of artificial lenses, our brain takes time to adjust to the vision from the artificial lens. It is common to experience these types of fluctuations after cataract surgery.

    क्या आपकी आंखों में भी हर समय रहता है भारीपन और थकान, जानिए कैसे करें देखभाल

There are several other reasons which can lead to blurry vision after cataract surgery which are:-

    1. This is because the artificial lens that is added in the surgery is an Intraocular Lens, which takes a bit of time to adapt to the optical system and is the major reason for temporary blurriness.
    2. Another reason for the lack of vision clarity is inflammation and swelling in the eye tissues, which are basically in the cornea. These responses are a part of the healing period, so it is common for these disturbances to occur during the recovery process.
    3. Sometimes, the changes in the structure of the cornea, which is the transparent part of the eye, can cause blurry vision.
    4. The disturbances in the tear film severely impact the smoothness and visual quality of the eyes. Tear film is the part that lubricates the surface of the eye, so it can cause transient disturbances in the vision.

Blurred vision is common if you have undergone cataract surgery recently. Normally, the blurred vision occurs for up to two weeks after the surgery. The healing time also depends on any pre-existing eye conditions or the type of technique or procedure used. Usually, the blurred vision heals within some weeks, but if the vision is still blurry after two or three months, then it is necessary for you to consult with an expert. It could lead to major issues like any residual refractive errors or astigmatism.

To fix this blurry vision, our experts will monitor your eye condition four or six weeks after the surgery. We will take a course of action by looking at the condition of your blurry vision by assessing your visual acuity, cornea health and overall state of the eye. Suppose your blurred vision has surpassed about two years without getting cleared. This condition is called posterior capsular opacification. Your thin membrane in the eye, which supports the intraocular lens, has become cloudy, which leads to less clarity in your vision. In this case, we will perform a non-invasive procedure on your eye, which is YAG laser capsulotomy, in which a laser will be used to create an opening in your posterior capsule, which is cloudy.
